The Houston Heights Association says Donovan Park is temporarily closed during the investigation of inappropriate graffiti.

Houston police responded on Tuesday to reports of racist graffiti at the park on Heights Boulevard at East 7th Street.

Somebody had scribbled chalk drawings onto the wooden train and other playground equipment.

HPD says it’s investigating the case as criminal mischief, but not as a hate crime.

The Anti-Defamation League is also involved in the investigation.

It’s not known when the park will reopen.
