ORANGE, Ohio

Criminal damaging: Chagrin Boulevard

Police responded to Wendy’s restaurant on the evening of May 10 after management reported finding the men’s restroom tagged in graffiti around 4:30 p.m.

The manager had conferred with corporate headquarters and a police report was requested for the incident, believed to have occurred that day sometime after noon.

Police awaited a corporate official who could access restaurant surveillance footage as the investigation remained active. Photos of the damaged restroom were taken for the incident report.

Violation of protection order: Jackson Road

A woman with a temporary protection order filed through Orange police against her husband reported May 15 that he violated when he texted her two days earlier.

He appeared to be texting about a business matter, with the estranged husband explaining that he accidently sent his current wife the message, but it was meant to be sent to his ex-wife — who also has the same first name.

After discovering he had texted his current wife in violation of the protection order, the husband said he sent a nearly identical text the morning of May 14 to his ex-wife.

Police took a screenshot of the other text and forwarded the case to the village prosecutor for review.
