2023 Village Arts Market – Oct 7th and 8th. Here at Twin Steeples we will feature two days of 50+ artists from across our area selling original and handmade jewelry, paintings, sculptures, pottery and photography, first year featuring a kids’ art market (young artists selling their creations), various sweet and savory local food vendors. Live music on stage both days featuring Tyler Kinchen and the Right Pieces and Innovative Soul Band on Saturday then Sunday, The Duane Bartel’s Band and Swing 101 Big Band perform. This arts and music festival is Oct 7, 9am to 5pm and Oct 8, 12pm to 5pm. All are welcome!! Free event!

October Exhibition: “Cool October Art” running October 18-Nov 8. Twin Steeples is proud to present an exhibition of two painters, Sally Caraway (New Orleans) and Bruce Hume (Hammond) as well as sculptures by Otto Ochs (Hammond). Caraway’s work is a carefully rendered surreal mix of local landscapes and animals used as symbols of personal mythology. Hume’s paintings are beautiful impressionistic explorations of scenes familiar to painter’s life. Ochs’ sculptures are carefully sanded wooden mediations of life, both its exalting freedoms and limitations. On display at Twin Steeples Creative Arts Center in Ponchatoula, Wed-Sat 10am-4pm.

Opening reception Oct 17, 5:30-7pm Artist talk at 6pm. Come see the art and meet artist in person! *FREE EVENT

October 12. 6pm-8pm. Open mic and performance by poet Otto Ochs! Come join us 6pm-7pm for the open mic to share a song, poem, performance, dance, or a surprise with us. Then 7-8pm, local artist and poet Otto Ochs will perform an hour of original poems. A truly unique experience because Otto’s sculptures will be on display as he performs his poetry. All ages are welcome to come and enjoy the show! Come early to sign up for the open mic. *FREE EVENT

October 18. Yoga at the Steeples. 5:30pm-6:30pm. Move your body. Calm your mind. Surround yourself with beauty and community. Join us as we partner with Downtown Yoga of Hammond to offer this special Community Yoga class inside our beautiful space. Britni Serou (ERYT-500, YACEP) co-founder of Downtown Yoga will lead this gentle yoga class, designed for practitioners of all levels; no experience required! Pay what you can; $10 suggested donation. Please bring your own mat.

Oct 30. Group Critique! 6pm-7pm Twin Steeples monthly group critique session is a chance for artists to bring out a piece they are working on, perhaps get some feedback and even share some thoughts with other artists. This is a great chance for creatives to get together and network. This group meet the last Tuesday of each month. FREE EVENT

Hours of Operation. We are now open Wednesday to Saturday 10am to 4pm. Monday and Tuesday by appointment only, closed Sunday.
