We are seeking talented intermediate level architects with 4+ years of full time professional experience to join our team as Project Architects. Project Architects work closely with the firm’s principal to develop and manage our projects from concept design to construction completion; among other things, they interface with clients, manage consultants, oversee the construction work, work with our team and our sub-contractors to ensure the project is complete successfully.

The ideal candidate is one with diverse skills and real interest in dealing with all aspects of the building process. Has strong design & management skills, aesthetic sensibilities, is an excellent communicator;  understands and enjoys construction; someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and could  become a team-leader. The position offers many opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the firm, and for professional advancement. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in developing and coordinating the design of a project from start to end.
  • Assist with client communication, presentations and meetings; put together meeting agendas, meeting minutes etc.
  • Coordinate project – including coordination with consultants, team-members and sub-contractors
  • Prepare and manage Department of Buildings and Landmarks Commission filings
  • Assist with Construction Administration, including job site visits, submittals, change orders etc.
  • Work closely with our Operations Manager to assist the logistics related to the construction of the project such as orders and deliveries

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of professional Architecture experience 
  • A professional degree in Architecture
  • knowledge of NYC zoning, building codes and LPC regulations preferred 
  • Experience preparing filing sets for NYC DOB and NYC LPC preferred
  • Rhino and AutoCAD proficiency, Revit preferred
  • Proficiency in preparation of presentation material, drawing representations, illustrations, using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc) . Also in Microsoft Office & Excel        
  • Strong interest in both Design & Construction processes
  • Ability to work on a wide range of project tasks simultaneously, ability to exhibit initiative in managing tasks and issues
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, personality that thrives within a less structured environment.

This is a full-time, in-person position in New York City, with a salary commensurate with a candidate’s experience and qualifications. We offer employee benefits that include paid time-off & health insurance coverage, and a great working environment.
