Echo & the Bunnymen, Songs To Learn And Sing Tour, April 6

Way back in November 1985 — long before Donnie Darko, long before 13 Reasons WhyEcho & the Bunnymen released Songs To Learn And Sing, a compilation album that rounded up all of the Liverpool post-punk band’s singles to that point. And holy shit what a collection it was, featuring legendary tracks like “Rescue,” “The Puppet,” “Seven Seas,” “Do It Clean,” “A Promise,” “Bring on the Dancing Horses,” “The Cutter,” “Never Stop,” and, among others, the iconic and forever unfuckwithable “The Killing Moon,” which holds steady as one of the absolute greatest songs ever written. Now, Ian McCulloch, Will Sergeant, and the gents head out on a North American tour with that compilation’s title on the marquee, hitting Citizens House of Blues in Boston on April 6 and promising “the very best” of the group. Look for the real heads in the crowd who were at that amazing Great Scott show a few years back. Tickets go on sale Friday (December 1) at 10 a.m. local time.
