Suffolk officials and county police held a news conference this morning addressing the suspected gang-related graffiti at a new park in Brentwood.
Police believe multiple people were involved in vandalizing Roberto Clemente Skate Park last Thursday night into Friday.
Officials did not reveal many details since surveillance video is still being reviewed, but they say they will work tirelessly to find those responsible and hold them accountable.
“To the perpetrators who left this ugly mark of hate and violence on our town where our youth come to play, know this – we will find you and you will be turned over to face the consequences to the fullest extent of the law,” says Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
The park will remain closed as the investigation continues.
