With the new Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur animated series now streaming on Disney+ (see “Confessions of a Comic Book Guy”), Marvel and Scholastic have unveiled a new graphic novel, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur: Wreck and Roll, by writer Stephanie Williams and artist Asia Simone, to be published by Scholastic under its Graphix imprint on April 2, 2024. The original graphic novel pits Lunella Lafayette, who is training for roller derby, against a gang of thieves who do their dirty work on skates. The book is rated for ages 8 to 12 and will be published as a 96-page paperback with an MSRP of $9.99.

Scholastic has been publishing graphic novels based on Marvel characters since 2021 (see “Marvel Entertainment and Scholastic Announce OGN Program”).

Williams is the writer of Wakanda (see “Marvel to Launch ‘Wakanda’ Without T’Challa”) and co-writer of Nubia and the Amazons (see “DC’s Wonder Woman Plans”).
