Most residents are kind and caring, but Anti-Semitic graffiti and vandalism has already begun | Letter | The Journal of the San Juan Islands

As the Jew-hating, pro-Hamas, BDS crowd continues to rear its head in our community, I do question what those outside of San Juan County must think of us if they pay attention. Between our county council publicly proclaiming their support of terrorists in the name of residents, vandals gluing anti-Israel propaganda to merchant windows in town, repugnant sidewalk chalk graffiti seeming to target a specific business, protesters calling for the demise of the Jewish state and the anti-Semitic BDS rantings from an anonymous group calling for boycotts designed to strangle our democratic ally, what is an observer to think?

After 17 years as a resident and business owner in our idyllic small town, I have found most residents to be exceptionally kind, caring, generous, decent people. However, even I have to look at that list above and wonder, what will keep this racist behavior from taking an ugly turn from rhetoric to malevolent acts toward individuals?
