QUINCY (WGEM) – More graffiti was found on a historic Quinsippi Island cabin on Wednesday.

The schoolhouse cabin, which is one of the oldest and most recently restored, was struck by vandals who spray painted on the side of the cabin.

The first of the black lettering on the side of the schoolhouse was discovered Tuesday which read: “The End is nigh. Don’t turn around. Don’t blink. – Bad Wolf.” The second phrase, “The woman who walked the earth.” was discovered Wednesday.

“It would have happened to been in broad daylight that somebody would have came down here and done it, which is really irritating to us as volunteers because we just had somebody here to hep us clean up the mess they left earlier. ” said John Gebhardt, president of the Friends of the Log Cabin Association.

Cleaning the cabin poses as a possible issue as it could damage the original elements that make the structures so unique.

Most of the structures were built in the early 1800s near Quincy, and later moved and rebuilt on the island.

“This village, all of these structures were moved here back in the late 60s and early 70s to save them from destruction.” said Gebhardt.

Fiends of the Log Cabin Association, the group that donates time and labor in keeping these cabins restored are still unsure as to who would have done this and what their intentions are.

The village is being rebuilt by volunteers. The Park District is helping out with the investigation and security measures for the village.

No possible motive for the graffiti has been identified.
