Luxury real estate: Top five most expensive Bay County homes sold in April

PANAMA CITY BEACH − There continues to be no shortage of million-dollar listings sold on the Beach.

Ranging from $2.399 million to $6.2 million, these are the top five most expensive homes sold in Bay County during April. All are located in the Panama City Beach area, either along or within walking distance of the Gulf of Mexico.

The list was provided by the Central Panhandle Association of Realtors, a local organization that oversees about 2,000 real estate agents in Bay, Calhoun, Washington, Holmes and Jackson counties.

20421 Front Beach Road, Panama City Beach

This property at 20421 Front Beach Road in the Panama City Beach area was the most expensive home sold in Bay County during April.

Claiming the top spot on the list is this 5,500-square-foot property that sold for $6.2 million, which was $50,000 less than its asking price.

Built in 2022, it features four floors, eight bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, two half bathrooms and a pool. The home sits along the Gulf on the west end of Panama City Beach.

“The builder designed it from start to finish to make sure guests can really utilize the space of the house,” said Tyler Poole, broker of Holiday Beach Real Estate and listing agent for the property. “We want to make sure that our guests can separate.

“Every little space of that house can be utilized by a rather large group of people.”

He noted the buyers of the property plan to use it as a vacation rental. It came fully furnished.

20417 Front Beach Road, Panama City Beach

This property at 20417 Front Beach Road in the Panama City Beach area was the second most expensive home sold in Bay County during April.

Coming in at No. 2 is this 5,500-square-foot property that sold for $5.5 million, which was $500,000 less than its asking price.

Built in 2022, it has an almost identical layout to the first property, which is located next door, according to Poole, who also was the listing agent for this home. It also features four floors, eight bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, two half bathrooms and a pool.

Poole said the first property cost more because it has a slightly better view.

“They’re basically the same house, those two,” he said. “They could go either way. They’re for anybody who has a high-end and expensive taste. … You’re on the west end of the beach, (and) you’ve got absolutely stunning views.”

He noted the buyers of the property plan to use it as a second home. It came fully furnished.

13653 Front Beach Road, Panama City Beach

This property at 13653 Front Beach Road in the Panama City Beach area was the third most expensive home sold in Bay County during April.

Third on the list is this 3,784-square-foot property, which sold for its asking price of $3.55 million.

Built this year, it features three floors, six bedrooms, six full bathrooms, one half bathroom and a pool. It sits along the Gulf in Margaritaville Beach Cottage Resort, the booming Jimmy Buffett-themed community in Panama City Beach.

“I love the warm, sunny, yellow exterior on this home,” said Karen Jones, lead real estate agent for Margaritaville Beach Cottage Resort and listing agent for the property. “It’s just a fun color, and I think that warmth and the fun Caribbean feel just kind of carries inside the home as well.

“It’s really a nice size home for a large family to be able to enjoy.”

She noted the buyers of the property plan to use it as a vacation rental. It came fully furnished.

137 Parkshore Drive, Panama City Beach

The No. 4 spot goes to this 2,587-square-foot property, which sold for $2.2 million. That was $95,000 less than its asking price.

Built this year, it features four bedrooms, four full bathrooms and one half bathroom. It sits within walking distance of the Gulf in Carillon Beach, a high-end gated community on the west end of Panama City Beach.

The listing agent for this home decline to go on record.

503 Albatross St., Panama City Beach

This property at 503 Albatross Street the Panama City Beach area was fifth most expensive home sold in Bay County during April.

Closing out the list of the top five most expensive homes sold in Bay County during April is this 4,292-square-foot property that sold for $2.175 million, which was $224,000 less than its asking price.

Built this year, it features three floors, eight bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, two half bathrooms and a pool. It sits just a couple blocks away from the Gulf in Panama City Beach.

“It’s just a high-quality investment property, and that’s what everybody’s looking for − something they can buy, put it on a rental program, and it pays for the cost of ownership,” said Bill Thomas, owner and broker of Beach Time Realty and listing agent for the property. “It’s just a great home (that’s) well built (and) packaged right.”

He noted the buyers of the property plan to use it as a vacation rental. It came fully furnished.
