Graphic novels available at the library

Did you know that the Putnam County Library System has an abundant graphic novel section? But first, do you even know what a graphic novel is? Think comic books, but written as a complete story rather than a story broken up into small periodical-sized booklets. The terminology can be debated, but stories told through comics have a long and much-beloved history and are still going strong today.

The library has graphic novels for all ages; in fact, graphic novels are a great way to entice some children who are reluctant readers into picking up a book. But the Putnam County Library’s real glory is in the collection of graphic novels for adults and teens. Our selection is varied and generous. The enthusiasm of our patrons for this form of book continues to grow. This section has devotees from childhood through people in their 90s. We also have some very devoted patrons who donate for this section specifically and take pride in the scope of our holdings.

If this spurs your curiosity, come to the library and check our graphic novels out. We have stories of Marvel heroes, adventure, high school dramas, fantasy, horror, reworks of the classics and so much more written in this exciting format.
