A partnership between the Tavistock Group’s NEXUS Luxury Collection and entrepreneur Mark Bellissimo is developing the Wellington, a 600-acre luxury residential club community near West Palm Beach, Fla.

The project will be located in Wellington, Fla., in Palm Beach County. Other venture partners are golfers Tiger Woods and Ernie Els and entertainer Justin Timberlake. The proposed development will include a residential club community adjacent to a walkable commercial center including retail, hotels, offices and dining and a park. The project will also feature a public riding center that will provide trail riding and foundational introductions to horseback riding, accessible by the community at large.

Creating pathway

“All new developments are both a project and a communication exercise,” Douglas McMahon, senior managing director at NEXUS and Tavistock Group, and managing partner of Wellington Lifestyle Partners, told Multi-Housing News.

“The project is unlike anything in Wellington today,” said McMahon, who noted that the property includes “an array of sporting amenities for every pursuit, a commitment to wellness, new residential home offerings and a commercial center with office, shops, boutiques and restaurants in a walkable environment.”

The proposal calls for including both single-family custom homes and condominium residences within the residential portion of the Wellington. Pending Village of Wellington approval, home sites will range form a quarter acre to five acres. Last month, a JV broke ground on Parks at Delray a new Delray Beach, Fla. community.
