Amazon Prime Unveils Free NFTs for Over 200 Million Subscribers, Enhancing Gaming Experience

  • The Amazon Prime Gaming platform has been chosen by Amazon Prime as its official platform to distribute NFTs.
  • Nearly 200 million Amazon Prime Subscribers could own free NFTs for blockchain games, using the Prime gaming platform.

Amazon Prime is creating a pathway for its subscribers to step foot into the NFT industry. Although many have speculated that Amazon is in the process of building something significant in the NFT space, Amazon Prime users can already gain access to NFT tokens.

Amazon Prime, a popular subscription service available, will be giving away NFTs to its subscribers. This was made possible by the Prime Gaming Portal; Amazon’s gaming.

Prime members do not have to worry about spending a dime on these Non-Fungible tokens, as Prime will be made free to Prime subscribers. These NFT tokens can be claimed by existing subscribers and can be used to participate in blockchain games. These NFTs range from special outfits to playable characters.

Although the Amazon Prime Gaming platform is fairly new, the service offers a handful of benefits to users. Amazon Prime Gaming exposes users to a variety of gaming titles for PC, Mac, and console for free.

To access Amazon Gaming, one must have a Prime account and login with the retailer to access the games. Amazon Prime currently hosts 170 million subscribers on its platform. With blockchain games losing steam, Amazon Prime’s recent move could help boost gaming interest across the blockchain gaming industry.

The platform has already worked with some notable gaming firms, some of which include League of Legends, Roblox, Diablo IV, and Madden NFL 23. Amazon tapped the aforementioned platforms, to offer free in-game content to its existing subscribers.

BBP’s Twilight Strix Blanko NFT and Midnight Crest Helmet NFT are some of the many NFTs that Amazon Prime users can snag on the platform. Additionally, Prime users can also get Mojo Melee NFTs, along with some in-game currencies.

The new development is not surprising to some market players, as it was already speculated that Amazon was already involved in NFTs. Back in March, Amazon was rumored to have ventured into the NFT market to introduce NFTs tied to real-world assets.

In addition to this, many are speculating that Amazon could also be working on creating its own NFT marketplace. However, Amazon is yet to confirm or debunk all of these claims.

Meanwhile, Amazon remains committed to advancing its network’s tool across the DeFi industry. In July, new developer tools were introduced to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. These tools were added to the Amazon Managed Blockchain (AMB) service, and they were designed to help speed up the deployment process for decentralized applications.
