Alumni of BRAC-U architects form association

The association of former students of Architecture Department of the BRAC University has been formed through a programme at capital’s Gulshan Shooting Club on Friday.

The four-hour programme included panel discussion, networking session and cultural function, sdaid a press release.

Rakibul Houque has been elected as president of the Alumni Association of BRAC-U architecture, through a competitive election. He is the proprietor and chief architect of Alter Architect and Associates. He was elected by 130 votes of association’s members.

Qazi Golam Nasir, former chief architect of the government’s architect department, renowned architect BKS Inan, BRAC University’s chairperson in-charge of Architect department Muhammad Faruque, member secretary of Bangladesh Sthapoti Institute’s membership advisory committee Ahsanul Hoque Rubel, assistant professor of BRAC University’s Architect department Monsur Gani and others joined the programme as guests.

Former student of BRAC University’s architect department and national consultant of World Bank Shihab Amin Mustofa had taken the formal initiative of forming this association.  In the meantime, 300 architects joined the association.
