Let’s face it: The NFT space moves really fast. Considering how quickly things can change in the metaverse, a week in NFTs might as well be a month IRL.
Don’t get us wrong — the more people onboarded into the space, the merrier. But because of the constant influx of great art and ideas, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with all the news, launches, and general happenings.
Well, you can put the days of endless Twitter and Discord scrolling behind you as we pull together a weekly list of upcoming NFT drops you definitely don’t want to miss. Here’s what to look out for this week.
Why: For her first-ever drop on Nifty Gateway, multitalented Korean-American artist Jisu has crafted an experimental collection that echoes back to her roots in character design. Based on Greek mythology, each painting within this latest offering presents a unique interpretation of the modern concept of “fate.”
Why: Fresh off a partnership with Off-White, acclaimed artist Spacebrat is set to make her entrance into Web3 via newcomer multi-chain minting platform Holograph. The release will feature her hyper-realistic airbrush painting Gleam, which was first shown as part of her solo Pipe Dream exhibition.
Why: On May 2, Jeremy Cowart took the stage at Vū Nashville to publicly reveal his creative process for the first time. Using himself as the canvas for a project, the multifaceted creator donned a white mask and projected hundreds of images at himself to create 10,000 NFTs in 20 minutes. A full week later, these PFPs will now release in multiple phases on OpenSea.
Why: ArtVndngMchn: Mission Wonderful is a mixed media project from award-winning author and cartoonist Joe Chiappetta. Crafted as an 88-page book inc collaboration with 19 artists, ArtVndngMchn blends fine art, writing, and comics. This particular drop will feature limited editions of unlockable physical and digital paperback collectibles.
Why: Mingle, the newest offering from mems, a multimedia art initiative founded by Maxy, is designed to be an immersive artistic journey that delves into the captivating concept of collective reminiscences. Each piece within the generative collection will be unique and contain a spread of characters and scenes that highlight the “infinite array of moments that make up this thing called life.”
