Street Art Links launched their first Maritime Walking Tours outside the Marina Hotel last Saturday.

Titled ‘Floating Tours’, the programme offers visitors a walking tour that showed off the beautiful, vibrant street art of Waterford.

Waterford musician Cillian Jacob was commissioned to a create a song dedicated to the St John’s Pil, titled ‘Song for St. John’s River’.

‘Floating Tours’ is an innovative maritime tour – part of the programme involves outreach with local, multi-disciplinary artists who are creating art installations for the community to enjoy.

Last Saturday, visitors got to meet artist David Maker on their travels. Maker is currently painting a mural that celebrates the steamships from Waterford’s maritime past.

They were also treated to a musical performance by Cillian Jacob on the banks of the Suir.

This is only the first outing of ‘Floating Tours’ as Street Art Links will be hosting more of these tours in the coming months.
