Sometimes graffiti is done in the name of art. Other times it’s simply vandalism.
Folks with Starved Rock State Park say vandals recently spray painted blue and black graffiti on the face of Sandstone Point. Conservation officers discovered the damage last weekend.
Park representatives say it’s unlikely staff will be able to remove the paint. They add that the vandalized sandstone has been around since glacial times and it’s been largely undisturbed until now.
Anyone who knows who is responsible for the vandalism at Sandstone Point is asked to call the Conservation Police tip line at 877-2DNRLAW.
