Graffiti is blighting two North Yorkshire towns say police – and they are asking for people’s help to catch the perpetrators.

A noticeable rise in the vandalism has taken place in both Northallerton and Thirsk.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Our local policing team is working closely with the council and the Community Safety Hub to tackle this issue.

“We have been able to identify and deal with two individuals in Northallerton but we are still seeing graffiti popping up in Northallerton and recently Thirsk.”

Officers are asking anyone who has any information about who may be responsible for the graffiti, or who has witnessed the damage taking place to contact them.
