Police identify person of interest in Brewer Riverwalk graffiti incident

BREWER (WGME) — Police say they have a person of interest after surveillance cameras captured a man leaving graffiti on a wall on the Brewer Riverwalk.

They say the video taken on Monday shows a man leaving graffiti on a wall behind a fenced in area under this overpass.

Officials say it took about an hour to cover up the graffiti.

“One of the difficult parts on this one was we had to wait for low tide to get in. There’s a little back gate to go in so we had to wait for the water to go down to gain access to it but after that it was a one hour clean up, roughly. Our policy is we try to clean it up as soon as we see it or get reported and I think it helps keep the incidents down,” said Michael Martin, the director of the Brewer Parks & Recreation Department.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Brewer Police Department at (207) 989-7001.
