British Luxury Home on Prehistoric Site Lists for £2.5 Million
What’s being called Britain’s “oldest home” has hit the market for the first time in 120 years for £2.5 million (US$3.1 million). Kents Cavern, in the seaside town of Torquay, sits on a Unesco site, and includes a refurbished luxury three-bedroom owner’s residence, as well as underground caverns—which formed over 2.5 million years ago and were once occupied by prehistoric humans and Ice Age animals—a woodland trail, a visitor center and a restaurant that are open to the public. Two Exclusive Hong Kong Homes Listed by Son of Hong Kong Billionaire
Lau Ming-wai, the son of Hong Kong-based billionaire Joseph Lau Luen-hung, has listed two residences in the city for almost HK$1 billion (US$127.52 million). Located at the Peak, Hong Kong’s most exclusive residential neighborhood, both three-story properties have far-reaching views of Victoria Harbour. New Supertall Tower Underway in Dubai
A new supertall tower project is underway in Dubai: The Habtoor Tower will feature 1,701 units over 81 floors, according to Al Habtoor Group, the developer. The firm said the skyscraper will be one of the tallest residential towers in the city, but has not yet disclosed exactly how tall that will be. The five-bedroom, seven-bathroom house was the backdrop for 11 seasons of her Emmy Award-winning cooking show, “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen,” so it’s no surprise the kitchen is kitted out with Wolf appliances, a six-burner cooktop, double ovens, warming drawer, a 30-inch gourmet microwave and a Sub-Zero refrigerator.
