Graffiti Removal to Affect Night Traffic on Philadelphia Interstates

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has embarked on a mission to clean up graffiti, which will affect night traffic on key Philadelphia interstates this week. Motorists should prepare for periodic lane closures on Interstate 95, I-76, and I-676 starting today, June 30, through Tuesday, July 2, from 6:30 PM to 5:00 AM.

The specific areas targeted for cleanup are:

  • I-95 between Girard Avenue and the I-76 interchanges.
  • I-76 between the Girard Avenue and I-676 interchanges.
  • I-676 between the I-76 and I-95 interchanges.

Travelers are cautioned to expect possible backups and delays when passing through these areas. Timely completion of this graffiti removal effort is contingent on favorable weather conditions. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time to accommodate the anticipated slowdowns in these sections.
