BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A free spring street art festival in Mid City Baton Rouge returns this May.

The route for Hot Art Cool Nights spans from Jefferson Highway at Goodwood Boulevard to the intersection of Government and 14th streets. The art festival is hosted by Mid City Merchants, a group dedicated to supporting local businesses.

The art hop is set for 6-10 p.m. Friday, May 12, rain or shine.

Local Pop-Up at Electric Depot, the site of a former power plant built in 1916, will have over 50 local businesses set up throughout the property, according to a news release. Future Local Pop-Up markets will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Memorial Weekend and the last Saturdays of the month in June and July.

Hot Art Cool Nights organizers encourage attendees to use rideshare services or ride bicycles to get to the festival.
