Art Seen | New musical collaboration to perform at Spring Art Market

SANTA CRUZ — Genoa Brown and Jase Earl will be launching their new musical collaboration, Aquin, at the Spring Art Market at the Tannery Arts Center on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Brown and Earl first met 10 years ago on a musical project, and soon became partners in marriage and parenthood. Their individual musical careers have continued evolving, with Brown teaching music, playing with local band AZA and appearing as a guest with Mak Nova and the Kings. Earl has become a prolific local DJ, founder of the popular Afrobeats Nite at Woodhouse Brewery, Abbott Square and Moe’s Alley.

Aquin will rekindle their musical partnership onstage, taking advantage of their multi-instrumental approach to soul and hip-hop music. The Spring Art Market is a free, family-friendly event that takes place outdoors at the Tannery Arts Center May 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The market features more than 40 artisan vendors, as well as music, food trucks, flowers, wine and beer.
