HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — The county is one step closer to bringing the idle Houston County Farm Center back to life.

This week, architects visited the Houston County Farm Center property and the actual building to do an initial assessment.

The county has given the architects the original plans and will begin to work up some ideas soon.

The county has mentioned getting the building renovated to hold events like a Farmers Market among others.

Chairman Brandon Shoupe said it will probably take a few months for the architects to come up with a plan.
